          Abstrak

          Dandruff is caused by the fungus Pityrosporum ovale. The Pityrosporum ovale fungus is a normal microspore that resides on the scalp. To overcome dandruff requires shampoo preparations. Shampoo is a cosmetic preparation used to cleanse the hair and scalp from dirt, dead skin residues and oil (sebum). Teak plant (Tectona grandis L.f.) is one of the plants that can be utilized as a medicinal plant because it contains many types of compounds including alkaloid compounds, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, and also contains dyes (yellowish brown or reddish). The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of shampoo preparations from ethanol extract of teak leaves (Tectona gandis L.f.) as antiketombe. This research includes making simplisia, characterizing simplisia, making extracts, phytochemical screening of simplisia powder and ethanol extract of teak leaves, inhibition zone activity test against Pityrosporum ovale fungus, making teak leaf ethanol extract shampoo preparations with concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30%, physical quality evaluation test of preparations including: organoleptical test, homogeneity, stability, foam height, pH, irritation, viscosity, emulsion type, and liking test, yeast mold number test (AKK) on volunteer scalp specimens. Phytochemical screening results showed that the simplisia powder and ethanol extract of teak leaves contained alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids/triterpenoids, and glycosides. The ethanol extract of teak leaves can be formulated into an anti-dandruff shampoo preparation and meets the requirements of the physical quality test. The preparation of teak leaf ethanol extract shampoo (Tectona grandis L.f) has antiketombe activity against Pityrosporum ovale fungi and fungal scalp specimens of volunteers with the number of percent reduction in fungal colonies, namely teak leaf ethanol extract shampoo with a concentration of 10% by 21.72%, 20% by 44.97%. and 30% by 66.29%.
